CPP20218 CERTIFICATE II
IN SECURITY OPERATIONS
COURSE DESCRIPTION
Certificate II in Security Operations is your first step into the security industry.
This qualification is listed as a prerequisite for obtaining a Security license by the Licensing and Regulation Division (LRD) of Victoria Police, who are the regulators of security licenses in Victoria. Lite Security fully meets the LRD training requirements to deliver the course for sub-activities of both unarmed guard and crowd controller. We ensure the quality of our training and assessment in compliance with the standards set by the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA).
The content of the course includes legislation relevant to the industry, communication skills, customer service, teamwork, basic first aid, managing intoxicated persons, reporting security incidents, occupational health and safety, basic self-defense and emergency procedures.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
There are no formal entry requirements for persons seeking to enrol into this qualification. However, it is expected that students will have sound literacy and numeracy skills.
COURSE STRUCTURE
The qualification includes 14 units grouped into five clusters as per below.

- CPPSEC2103: Apply WHS, emergency response and evacuation procedures to maintain security

- CPPSEC2105: Provide quality services to a range of security clients
- CPPSEC2106: Protect self and others using basic defensive techniques
- CPPSEC2107:Patrol premises to monitor property and maintain security
- CPPSEC2108: Screen people, personal effects and items to maintain security
- CPPSEC2109: Monitor and control access and exit of persons and vehicles from premises
- CPPSEC2110: Monitor and control individual and crowd behaviour to maintain security
- CPPSEC2111: Apply security procedures to manage intoxicated persons
- CPPSEC2112: Apply security procedures to remove persons from premises
- CPPSEC2113: Escort and protect persons and valuables
- HLTAID011: Provide first aid
HLTAID001 - PROVIDE CARDIOPULMONARY RESUSCITATION
COURSE DESCRIPTION
This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in line with the guidelines set by the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC).
This unit applies to all workers who may be required to provide CPR in a range of situations, including community and workplace settings.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
There are no formal entry requirements for this program. However, it is expected that students have sound literacy and numeracy skills.
ASSESSMENTS
Assessment methods include written assignments, case studies, role plays and practical demonstrations.
FEES
Full fee for this course is $60. Fees are payable prior to commencement of the course HLTAID002 – Provide basic emergency life support.
HLTAID002 – PROVIDE BASIC EMERGENCY LIFE SUPPORT
COURSE DESCRIPTION
This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to recognise and respond to life-threatening emergencies in line with the guidelines set by the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC).
This unit applies to all workers who may be required to provide an emergency response in a range of situations, including community and workplace settings.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
There are no formal entry requirements for this program. However, it is expected that students have sound literacy and numeracy skills.
ASSESSMENTS
Assessment methods include written
assignments, case studies, role plays and practical demonstrations.
FEES
Full fee for this course is $150. Fees are payable prior to commencement of the course.
HLTAID003 - PROVIDE FIRST AID
COURSE DESCRIPTION
This is a stand-alone unit that develops the skills and knowledge required to provide a first aid response to a casualty. The unit is appropriate for persons who may be required to provide a first aid response in a range of situations, including community and workplace settings.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
There are no formal entry requirements for this program. However, it is expected that students have sound literacy and numeracy skills.
ASSESSMENTS
Assessment methods include written
assignments, case studies, role plays and practical demonstrations.
FEES
Full fee for this course is $200. Fees are payable prior to commencement of the course.
HLTAID004 – PROVIDE FIRST AID IN AN EDUCATION AND CARE SETTING
COURSE DESCRIPTION
This is a stand-alone unit that develops the skills and knowledge required to provide a first aid response to a casualty in a child care or education setting. The unit is appropriate for persons who may be required to provide a first aid response to children and babies in a range of situations.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
There are no formal entry requirements for this program. However, it is expected that students have sound literacy and numeracy skills.
ASSESSMENTS
Assessment methods include written assignments, case studies, role plays and practical demonstrations.
